Wednesday February 16th 2022

09:30 Lois and I drive down to Hampshire for a few days with our daughter Alison, her husband Ed, and their 3 children Josie (15), Rosalind (13) and Isaac (11).

It's only 100 miles, but it includes motorway travel on the M4 - these are things we're just not used to any more so it's a big deal, to put it mildly!!!! A couple of years ago we wouldn't have thought anything of it. That's down to two things: getting older, plus all the lockdowns. We arrive safe and sound after two and a half hours. Phew !!!!!

We're approaching the M4 - YIKES !!!!!!

I'm tired after the mental concentration of the drive so I have an afternoon nap while Lois goes out with Ali and the children to take the family's Danish dog, Sika, for a walk. Ed, who normally works 3 days out of every 5 at home, is working today in his London office and he doesn't get home till 9 pm. Poor Ed !!!!!!!

Ed's working in London today, so we get the chance to
check out his "home" office - what a view, eh??!!!!!

In the evening we play a game of Cluedo with Ali and the children. I guess who the murderer is etc, so do a couple of the others at the same time, and somebody else gets to the centre of the board first - damn!!!!!

we play Cluedo with Ali and the children

later, Lois and I renew our acquaintance with Otto the cat

22:00 We go to bed - zzzzzzzzzz!!!!!!
