07:00 Ed, our son-in-law, leaves early - our daughter Alison drives him to Haslemere train station and he boards the train to London, where he has a temporary job.

09:00 Alison takes the couple's 3 children - Josie (soon 13), Rosalind (11) and Isaac (9) to their swimming class and afterwards to their piano class.

Meanwhile, Lois and I drive into town, where we visit the museum, which is currently holding an exhibition of Japanese prints from the Edo period.

It is very nostalgic for us to see these old Japanese prints - it reminds us of when we were in Japan in 1970-71, not yet married.

Flashback to 1970-71: Lois and me in Japan

10:30 We visit the museum's famous bee-colony, which lies behind the museum building.

11:00 We head into Darnley's café to recharge our batteries with a glass of ice coffee and a piece of cake.

12:00 We come home and have lunch with Alison and the three children. Afterwards, Lois and I go to bed to take a gigantic afternoon nap - zzzzzzzz !!!!!

18:00 We have dinner and spend the rest of the evening watching some television. Ed comes home around 7 o'clock.

10:00 Lois and I, along with our daughter Alison and her 3 children, Josie (soon to be 13), Rosalind (11) and Isaac (9), drive into Wey Hill, a small suburb of Haslemere. Rosalind and Isaac play soccer in the local park, and in the meantime Alison, Josie, Lois and I head into the local Lion’s Den café to have a cup of coffee and a piece of cake.

11:30 We get home. Isaac discovers that in our absence, the postman has delivered his brand new Spurs football shirt, with the name of one of his favourite football stars, Ndombele, on the back.

13:00 We have lunch and afterwards Lois and I go to bed and have a gigantic afternoon nap. We get up at 4 pm and go out on the terrace and work on the Radio Times magazine's crossword. From time to time, Lois throws a frisbee and lets Sika, the family's Danish dog, retrieve it. Sometimes the ball disappears in the high hedge, which is a little annoying to put it mildly.

Fra tid til anden kaster Lois en frisbee ud og lader Sika, familiens danske hund, hente den tilbage. Nogen gange forsvinder bolden i den høje hæk, hvilket er lidt irriterende for at sige mildt.

A lazy day for me.

07:00 Ed, our son-in-law, left early - Alison, our daughter, drove him to the local train station where he boarded the train to London. A couple of weeks ago, he started a temporary job at a company that owns hundreds of petrol stations in Africa – my god, what a crazy world we live in !!!!

The company's headquarters is in the neighbouring building to the Apollo Theatre in central London. Ed and Ali celebrated their 20th anniversary exactly one week ago by watching the musical "Wicked" at this theatre. And by chance (again), I brought Alison to the same theatre in the 1980’s to see the musical "Starlight Express". Happy days!

Ed, Alison and their 3 children - Josie (soon to be 13), Rosalind (11) and Isaac (9) moved back to England 1 year ago, after 6 years in Copenhagen. Since then, Ed has only taken a few temporary jobs while continuing in search of his dream job.

10:00 Lois, Alison and the kids drive into the town of Haslemere to buy a few things and pop into Hemingways café to have a cup of coffee and a piece of cake. In the meantime, I stay home and update my blog.

Lykkelige dage!!!
