interessant program ( ”The Last Word”), fordi vi gerne vil få at vide, om nogen
drikker teen.
Susan bor i Monument (Colorado). Hun vil

English
translation
18:00 We have dinner and then we spend the evening
listening to the radio: an interesting program ("The Last Word"),
because we want to be told if anyone in the past two weeks has died. It turns
out that only 4 people died - hurrah, so no need to panic!
My Goodness! Richard Neville, the radical Australian
author and social commentator / journalist, died (at 74 years), after suffering
from dementia for about 10 years - oh dear! He became famous for his hippie
magazine "Oz" in Australia and in Britain in the 1960s. Many
Australian immigrants in London collaborated with Neville on the British
version, including Clive James and the famous feminist writer Germaine Greer.
Thirty years later Neville wrote his autobiography. He
sent the draft of his book to Greer so she could check it, but she did not read
it. When the book was released, however, she was very angry ha ha ha!
In a 1990s British television series about the Oz weekly
magazine in the 1960s, it was Hugh Grant, who played Neville. I hope that Grant
managed to drop his usual voice and speak with an Australian accent - I have no
doubt about that!
The former radical Bishop of Durham, David Jenkins, is
also dead. Durham Cathedral was struck by lightning just after he became
bishop. God did not like him, I'm sure of that !!!
22:00 We go to bed - zzzzz !!!!
05:00 I get up early and do one of my routine Danish
vocabulary tests. I make two cups of tea and bring them up to our bedroom. We
lie in bed and drink the tea. We get up and eat breakfast.
10:45 We have to be off. We drive over to Witney for
lunch with my cousin John, my American cousin Susan (John's sister) and John's
wife, Chris. On the way, we make a quick stop at the local Sainsbury's
supermarket to buy a bouquet of flowers for Chris.
12:00 We arrive at John's house and eat lunch. Both John
and Chris, John's wife, are very good at cooking, and the meal is really
magnificent. After lunch, we talk a little with Susan, John and Chris in the
living room.
John is now 65 years old, and he receives a pension from
the state, but he also continues to work at the local hospital. Chris, a former
nurse, is now retired and is no longer working.
Susan lives in Monument (Colorado). She is a little older
than John, her brother. She wants to be a grandmother, but her daughter, Magda,
who lives in Portland (Oregon) is now 39 years old and has just left the
boyfriend she has been with for many years - oh dear! That does not sound so
good! Does Magda not know that women have a biological clock that ticks really
fast? My Goodness! What a crazy world we live in !!!!
Susan's partner, Skip, is a sculptor. He would like to
move to Santa Fe, which sounds like an artist's paradise. There will be a lot
of other sculptors there, he could talk art with!
My aunt Bobby, Susan and John's mother, now lives in a
nursing home in Witney. Lois and I would like to visit her, but we must choose
the day carefully. Her condition is a little up and down.
15:00 I take a few photos in John's front yard, and then
Lois and I drive home.
Susan, my American cousin, John (Susan's brother),
Chris (John's wife), and Lois,

16:00 We get home and relax with a cup of tea on the
sofa.
