”Engel”.
Engel, vores
frelsende engel, flyv over os, vores engel.
Kom
tilbage, Adam, alt er tilgivet.
Vi har brug for dig
her!!!!
Du kom og du gav
uden at tage,
og vi har brug for
dig i dag!!!!
Scoren
over mållinjen igen og igen.
skotiske Jill Douglas sidde i ITV4-studien.
kommer
til sport: skotske Jill Douglas. Det er lidt af en skam
at
Jill
Douglas i lykkeligere tider –
i
Men
Robin) i stedet for West.
Ward.
English translation
17:00 I find that I am
increasingly haunted by thoughts of Adam West, TV's Batman, and what he thought
about the proposed removal of Gotham's famous statues of the Penguin and the
Joker. West was the Gotham City's (and the world's) guardian angel, and he
could have been the inspiration of the Eurythmics song, "Angel".
Angel, our guardian angel, fly over us, Batman.
I believed in you, like Elvis
Presley singing psalms on Sunday.
Where did you go?
"Well, he’s gone to meet his maker, back
to where he came from,
gone to save his soul
They have come to take him home,
Cos it's late and past his bedtime, way
past his bedtime!!!!"
"AdamWest: Come back, Adam, all is
forgiven.
We need you here !!!!
You came and you gave without taking.
And we need you today!!!!!"
18:00 Lois and I have dinner and
then we watch some television. We decide to watch the women's Rugby Union World
Cup 2017: 12 nations are competing in 3 initial pools in Dublin, after which
they will play semifinals and finals in Belfast, 26th of August.
We see an entertaining match
between England and USA that took place earlier in the day. England won by
47-26. The English team played better than in their first 2 matches against
Spain and Italy. Their pack was impressive and pushed the American pack here
there and everywhere over the field and across the goal line. The half-time
score was 33-7 but midway through the second half some of the best English
players went off and were substituted, and after that USA scored 3 to 4
touchdowns.
The English pack (in white) were incredibly impressive
and were pushing the American pack here there and
everywhere all over the field and over the goal-line
In the end both England and the
United States managed to qualify for the semifinals: England topped their pool
and USA qualified as the tournament's best number 2.
It's nice to see again our
favourite host when it comes to television sports, the Scot, Jill Douglas,
sitting in the ITV4 study.
It's nice to see again our
favourite host when
it comes to sport: the Scot, Jill Douglas.
It's a bit of a shame
that she is in trousers and we cannot see
her amazing legs today.
Jill Douglas in happier times - in a skirt/dress
I played rugby at school myself,
but I did not understand it. I do not have the slightest idea of what the rules
are. But as I write these words, I suddenly see myself in a new light and I
realise that I could have been a sports journalist, like Raymond in HBO's
"Everyone Loves Raymond". But sadly it's too late now - another lost
opportunity. Damn!
04:00 I get up and do one of my
routine Danish vocabulary tests.
07:30 I hop into bed with Lois
and we drink our morning tea. We get up and have breakfast.
09:00 We drive over to the
village of Bishops Cleeve to do the shopping at the local Tesco supermarket and
some other local shops. I am reminded of Eurythmics songs again in front of the
local delicatessen's front door.
12:00 We come home and have
lunch. Afterwards I go to bed and take a gigantic afternoon nap.
15:00 I get up. I have not heard
anything from Adam West yet - I invited him to come back, saying all was
forgiven. I would like him to resume his "guardian angel" role. It
may be that we have to find someone who resembles West, and who could
substitute for him. Roger Moore has a similar voice and his face is symmetrical
like West's but unfortunately Moore is also dead.
It may be that we will have to
try to contact Burt Ward (TV's Robin) instead of West. If necessary, we can even contact Walter Hodgson, an accountant in Kalamazoo (Michigan). According to
www.theonion.com, the influential American news website, Hodgson bears a strong
resemblance to Ward.
Rick Tufts, who lives in the same
apartment complex, recently said that Hodgson, from a certain angle and, in
particular, when he has his hair parted on the left, "looks a real lot
like the guy who played Robin in the old TV -series".
Apart from Hodgson's strong
resemblance to Ward, Tufts could not remember anything else about Hodgson that
was distinctive about him.
