Roger har nøjagtig to såkaldte ”jokes”,
Men
at prøve at løse dem.
dens hastighed.
English translation
16:30 Lois and I listen a little
to the radio, an interesting program which is about Gustave Flaubert
(1821-1880), the French writer, and his first and greatest novel, Madame
Bovary, which we love so much.
It is always interesting to hear
how great writers get ideas for their novels. Emma Bovary, the unfaithful and
fantasizing wife of a provincial doctor was based on a real woman, whom Gustave's
family knew, and Gustave’s mother was afraid that her family would recognize
her if they read her son's book.
Gustave had a mistress, Louise, a
Paris-based poetess and journalist, and a number of love scenes in the book
were based on his relationship with her, especially scenes that played out in
hotels between Rouen and Paris, where Gustave and Louise had the habit of
checking in to share a bed.
Louise was the driving force in
the relationship and often took the initiative for sex with Gustave - the scene
where Emma first seduces the young student, Leon, in a carriage, which a local coachman
drove around the city's streets, rumbling over the cobblestones, was based on
the afternoon when Louise first seduced Gustav - my god! What a crazy world we
live in !!!!
17:00 I hurry up to Sarah's old
room and jump up on my exercise bike. I ride 5 miles (8 km) - hurrah! Now I am
quite sure that I can get well again! While I bike, I look at 1978's best pop
videos on Youtube. Time flies when you're having fun - no doubt about it !!!!
18:00 We have dinner, and then we
spend the evening watching TV. They show a movie, "Johnny English
Reborn", starring Rowan Atkinson as a British agent, a comedy version of
James Bond.
Lois laughs a lot during the film but I don't so much - my god! I read the review in Radio Times magazine, which is also favorable. My conclusion - it is I who am wrong. Oh dear!
I would rather have seen more
verbal humor, and less slapstick. Unfortunately, I am just a big brain that is
barely aware of my surroundings, a bit like a fish. Deep sigh !!!!
Johnny English wrestles with a granny in "Johnny English Reborn"
I think I have actually laughed
more when I've seen old James Bond films, especially where Roger Moore and Sean
Connery took the lead role.
Two years ago I bought a new
voice for my Tomtom device on the Internet : Roger Moore's. Lois and I both
like Roger's voice, and he is calmness personified - which helps a lot when
driving in an unfamiliar city and getting lost.
Roger has exactly two so-called
"jokes" that we hear now and then. The instruction to "Take the
motorway!" Is always accompanied by "And watch the speed
limit.". The instruction to "go straight ahead" is always
accompanied by "unless there’s a brick wall in front of you" ha ha
ha. He was much funnier as James Bond - I know that for sure! But he is now
getting well on in years - no doubt about it! Let us forgive him, but just this
once, Roger. For old time's sake !!!! But get a new writer, Roger, we beg of
you!
22:00 We go to bed - zzzzzz !!!!!
04:00 I get up early and take a
look on the web.
Afterwards I hurry into the kitchen and make two cups of tea.
I take them up to the bedroom and crawl back in bed. We drink the tea and get
up. We eat breakfast.
10:00 I call my old friend, Mark.
He can visit us on Wednesday afternoon to help me connect my new router and
Youview + TV device. I tell him I have other IT problems too, and he agrees to
try to solve them. I begin to delete a series of files and images on my laptop,
to try to improve its speed.
11:00 Lois and I go into the
village. We pop into the post office to send some letters and parcels.
13:00 We eat lunch and afterwards
I go to bed and take a gigantic afternoon nap - zzzzz !!!!
15:30 I get up, and Lois and I
relax with a cup of tea on the sofa.
