stueetagen.
. Også står det enorme fjernsyn vinkelret
til sofaer (nakkeproblemer – du godeste!)
ukomfortable sofaer, stående vinkelret til fjernsynet – hvorfor???
Ræk mig lige opkastningsposen, Alice !!!!
21:00 Jeg fortsætter med at se lidt fjernsyn. De viser New Lives in
the Wild (3. del af 8). Programmets
går i bad.
online i Australien.
English translation
17:00 I jump up on my exercise
bike and I ride 9 miles (15 km). Hoorah - now I am quite sure that I can get
well again! I think that 9 miles is the longest distance I've ever completed at
one go - I usually stop after 6 miles, because it is so boring - oh dear! But
now I watch Youtube videos while cycling. Time flies when you're having fun - I
have no doubt about THAT!!!!
18:00 We have dinner and
afterwards Lois must away. She would like to attend a Bible seminar, which is
taking place tonight in Brockworth. She is riding with her friends, Ken and
Patricia.
I have a little time alone, and I
spend the evening watching TV. They show an old episode of Grand Designs. The
program's host is the charming Kevin McCloud.
Mimi and her husband, Andre, a
married couple with two little boys, want to get a huge modern house built in
the countryside in the county of Kent. The house does not look so bad, but when
you see it from the outside, it unfortunately looks more like a small company
headquarters than a home - oh dear! And it's too big for a family of 4, with
lots of wasted space. Why do these couples never talk about the problems that
come with size, for example, cleaning, etc. ????
The house looks more like a small company
headquarters than a home - oh dear!
The house has a huge living room,
because Mimi think it is important that the whole family can be together in the
evening, but why does she? I do not understand this view - what madness !!!
When I was little, our house had three rooms on the ground floor. In the first
room you could sit and read, in the second you could watch television, in the
third you could listen to music. In other words, you could shut out the outside
world and concentrate on anything you liked. This is the ideal situation, I
think.
the living area is too large, with little
furniture and lot of wasted space - oh dear (again)!
We see the usual modern sofas:
too long, too deep, and with backs that are too low (that means back
problems!). Also the huge television is at right angles to sofas (neck problems
- my god!)
uncomfortable sofas, standing at right
angles to the television - why ???
Pass the sickbag, Alice !!!!
21:00 I continue to watch TV.
They show New Lives in the Wild (Part 3 of 8). The program's host is the
charming Ben Fogle.
In this series Ben visits people
who have decided to leave civilization's benefits behind and live in difficult
conditions somewhere out in the country. He meets Gareth, an English shoemaker,
and his new bride, Julia, a South African hairdresser, who bought (for £ 3,000)
a farm with a ramshackle farmhouse in the countryside in Hungary's sparsely
populated and impoverished southwestern region, in a small village called
Gadacs. They found the property on the Internet. They are not rich, and can
spend max £ 3 a day. My God!
Julia and Gareth, with Ben, the program's charming host, standing behind them
The water tap is outside in the
courtyard, the shower enclosure is outside in the courtyard. And winters in
Hungary are freezing cold! There is no proper toilet, just so you know! Ben,
the program's charming host has to sleep on the floor in the kitchen - my god!
I can see that the program has
been arranged to create a confrontation between the young couple and Julia's
mother, who is a fabulously rich South African woman who owns several expensive
sports cars and luxury cars, including a Ferrari. She visits the couple, but
she declines their invitation to sleep in the main house and stays in a local
hotel instead.
I am quite sure that the
program's director was very disappointed when Julia's mother was not angry at
the couple and was in good spirits, and seemed very supportive when she looked
around the farmhouse and farmyard. Ha ha !!!!
22:00 Lois comes home again. I go
to bed - zzzzz !!! Lois stays up another 30 minutes - she needs to relax and
unwind after the evening's stimulating Bible seminar - my god, poor Lois !!!! She
is also keen to hear the latest news about the US presidential election - oh
dear!
05:00 I get up early and do one
of my routine Danish vocabulary tests. Afterwards I hurry into the kitchen and
make two cups of tea. I bring them up to our bedroom and crawl back into our
bed. Our electric blanket is still switched on on my side - hurrah! We drink
the tea and go in the shower. We get up and eat breakfast.
10:30 I begin to clear up our daughter Sarah's
and her husband Francis's business letters. We have collected 11 months' post and our
letter racks have become a big mess - I have no doubt about THAT! They never
asked us to do anything special with these letters, but enough is enough! I
will shred the bank statements and throw the rest away - hurrah! I am confident
anyway that they can look at the bank statements online in Australia.
13:00 We eat lunch and go to bed
for a few hours. I take a short break from concentrating for a few seconds and
Lois takes a photo of me. She's a bad bad girl - I know that for sure !!!
Before I know it, Lois has taken yet
another photo of me,
her "charming" husband – tee hee!
16:00 We stay in the bed and
discuss Trump's victory in the presidential election. It is true, as some have
said, that the result looks a bit like Brexit. The white male working class in
the United States do not trust "the elite in Washington" (the
fabulously rich Trump is apparently not a part of any elite), and in the same way
we see that the white male working class in Britain do not trust "the
elite in Brussels / Strasbourg". And they also have the most to lose from
an influx of immigrants. It is always a mistake to forget that although most
voters are not very intelligent, they know what they want - that, I know for
sure !!!
16:15 We get up and relax with a
cup of tea on the sofa.
