hende, at Lois senere på ugen vil ringe hende tilbage.
20:30 Jeg fortsætter med at se lidt fjernsyn. De viser en interessant
dokumentarfilm – ”Travel Man: 48 Hours in Copenhagen”, der handler om
Københavns seværdigheder. Værter er Richard Ayoade og sin ven, Noel Fielding,
en alternativ komiker.
Richard Ayoade og Noel Fielding medvirkede begge to i ”The IT Crowd”, en
Noel
Stakkels Richard!!!

vores hegn.
Jeg ser Betty Boo synge de udødelige ord ”(Where are you baby, we used to have so
much fun), And what did I do
to deserve this, Some days I feel all nervous. Please use the telephone
service, I hope today you heard this!”.

for at fuldføre arbejdet.
bagefter starter bilen flere ganger, men uden succes.

17:30 We eat dinner.
18:15 Lois has to be off. There is a Bible seminar, which takes place tonight in Brockworth, which she wants to participate in. She is going there with her friends, Alf and Mari-Anne. Poor Lois today now and then has had sore ribs (a sort of stabbing pain), but she has every 4 hours taken ibuprofen to manage the pain, and she thinks she will be ok tonight.
18:30 I'm looking at royalmail.com, and I see that the postman delivered today at 08:10 to Sarah's legal representatives in Poundbury the documents I sent yesterday in connection with the sale of Sarah's old apartment in Cheltenham - hurray! They can now start working on the sale!
19:30 I am alone in the house, so I spend the evening watching TV. They show the second episode of the second series of "Sorry", a sitcom from the 1980s, starring Ronnie Corbett, the Scottish comedian. The series is about a 41-year-old librarian Timothy Lumsden, who still lives at home with his demanding mother and absent-minded father.

In this episode (first broadcast in 1982) Timmy is worried that he is soon going
to be interviewed for an internal promotion at work. Because of his fear, he
has begun to experience various problems (such as walking in his sleep,
recurrent nightmares, etc. - oh dear!). He visits a psychotherapist who advises
him to have a relaxed attitude to the interview and for example go in casual
clothes, etc.
But while Timmy is sitting and waiting in the interview waiting-room with
the other candidates, his mother shows up with a suit, she has bought him. She
tries to force him to throw off his casual sweater and put the suit on. My
Goodness!

20:00 Lois's cousin, Iris,
calling me from Southport and we talk a little. Iris
had a bypass surgery a few months ago and
she felt unwell on Sunday,
but she is now
a little better. I tell her that Lois later
this week will call her back.
20:30 I continue to watch TV. They show an interesting documentary - "Travel Man: 48 Hours in Copenhagen", which deals with Copenhagen's sights. The hosts are Richard Ayoade and his friend, Noel Fielding, an alternative comedian.

22:00 Lois comes home and we go to bed - zzzzzz !!!!
03:45 I get up early and take a look on the internet. Then I continue to
copy my old VHS tapes to DVD. We are now in November / December 1990. I see
that I caught the moment when the English team and the French team finally met
each other under the English Channel, when Eurotunnel was in the process of
being built.
December 1990: TV news announces that the British
and the French have finally met each other under the English Channel. (This
video I found on my "Smudger 1" VHS tape).
It is without
doubt a pity that this tunnel ever got built, but it is still quite easy to
send crazy and bad people back to France, compared to the countries with long
land borders - oh! Thank God they did not build a road bridge like the bridge
that lies between Denmark and Sweden !!!
10:00 Terry, the local handyman, comes and begins to repair our fence.
10:30 Our neighbors, Frances and Stephen, pop in. They leave on Thursday for New Zealand and they come back Feb. 29. Lois and I must take care of their house while they are away from home. Six weeks - my goodness!
We talk a little with them about their holidays and the routes they fly through: Hong Kong on the way to NZ, Sydney and Singapore on the way home. We mentioned that we plan to visit Sarah's little family in Perth n the autumn, but Stephen and Frances do not offer to take care of Minx. And Lois and I agree that it would not be fair to ask them to take care of a cat for so long (eg 2-3 months).

15:00 I get up and try again to start Sarah's and Francis's Saab. Sarah
sent me instructions. I warm up the engine for five minutes, and then start the
car several times, but without success as regards the warning light. The light
turns on every time and will not turn off - my goodness! It would be nice not
to have to sit in a cold car when it's freezing outside, and wait while the
engine warms up. My God (again)! I will send Sarah an email tonight.
16:00 I come into the house to warm up. Lois and I relax with a cup of tea
on the couch ....
