De viser Top of the Pops fra 1981. Den mest mindeværdig sang i showet er Kim Wildes ”Kids in America”.

Grrrrr!!!!

18:00 Lois and I eat dinner and afterwards we use the evening to watch TV. They show Top of the Pops from 1981. The most memorable song of the show is Kim Wilde's "Kids in America". She was 20 years old and completely unknown when she appeared in the show on 29 February 1981. We see and hear this song, her first single, later to become her first hit. She is still very slim, she looks morose, sour and cross in a fashionable way; In addition, she has her iconic striped jumper on, without doubt a future pop star - hurray!

20:00 There is nothing interesting on television, so we listen to the radio, a pleasant concert on Classic FM - hurray!

22:00 We go to bed - zzzzz !!!!

03:15 I get up early and take a look on the internet.

9:30 Lois drives to the local Sainsbury's supermarket to do the shopping. I must stay at home, because Lois's friend James has said that he will slip in at our place over the weekend, and he refuses to say exactly when he is coming! My Goodness! Another guy who likes to keep options open until the last moment! He will slip in at our place to pick up even more baby clothes and toys, and transport them to a charity, which is based in Birmingham.

11:00 We skype with Sarah, our youngest daughter, Francis, her husband, and their 2 and a half-year-old twins, Lily and Jessica. The family moved two months ago to Australia. It's great fun to talk to them about their lives in Perth.

The twins' hair is now growing longer, and they have lovely blond curls. They talk a lot more and they can express themselves better. But I feel that, unfortunately, is inevitable that Lois and I become more and more marginal in their lives - they have after all not seen us for 2 months, and they are starting to get many new experiences in their new life in Australia .

It is fortunate that we are now considering seeing them in April or May, after spending a week in Melbourne (with Lois's cousin, Sylvia) and a week in Adelaide (with Lois's cousin, Stephen). Otherwise, they're going to forget us - of that I am in no doubt !!! We have received today emails from both Sylvia and Stephen. They are both of them looking forward to seeing us in the spring - hurray!

Sarah will next week begin to look for a job in Perth, but she must continue to work part time on some projects for the company that she worked for in England (which is housed in Evesham) before moving to Australia two months ago.

She says she has many times in the last 4 weeks worked late into the night, often to 1 o'clock at night. One night it was only at 3 o'clock that she went to bed, and four hours later she had to get up - my goodness, what a life!

13:00 We have lunch and afterwards I go to bed and take me a long nap - zzzzzz !!!!

15:30 I get up and we relax with a cup of tea and a piece of bread with homemade orange marmalade - yummy !!!

16:00 James has not shown up yet - so annoying that he cannot communicate with us and arrange a time before he comes! Grrrrr !!!!
