tjenestefolkene har haft mulighed for at række tallerkener væk – du godeste! Men
Samtidig i
gamle legetøj ind i vores bil.
samles i kirken.
dag! Mareridtet fortsætter...!!!!

18:00 We eat dinner, and then we spend the evening on watching TV. They
show the second episode of "War and Peace". Last week's episode
(broadcast Jan. 3) was thankfully free of sex and violence, but today the
Russian army has started to address Napoleon, so we have to look at a lot of
blood and piles of corpses on the battlefield. Also Andrei's wife, Lisa, dies
in childbirth - more blood! (Fortunately, Lise's child is ok !!!). Pierre's
wife, Hélène, has sex with Pierre's friend, Dolokhov, on the dining table before
the servants have had the opportunity to clear plates away - my goodness! But I
must admit that we rarely see servants in War and Peace: these distinguished
Russian households do not look like Downton Abbey - about that, I am in no
doubt !!!!
22:00 We go to bed. I read seven pages of my bedtime-book, "William
Pitt the Younger" by William Hague, and then I slide into sleep - zzzzzz
!!!
03:45 I get up early. I see in the hallway all the best of the old toys,
which our youngest daughter, Sarah, and her husband, Francis, left in our
garage when they 6 weeks ago moved to Australia - my goodness! What a mess!
Lois will take them later in the morning to the local mother's group,
"Urchins" who gather every Monday morning at the local United Reform
Church.
What a mess !
I look a bit on the Internet. Our Danish group's next meeting will take
place on Thursday at our place, so I load into my computer's Powerpoint
software 100 English phrases that I want group members to translate into Danish
- I'm so demanding, ha ha ha!
08:00 I
continue to work on the papers, documents and forms relating to the sale of
Sarah's old apartment in Cheltenham. At the same time in Australia Sarah starts
responding to my questions and finds documents on her computer and so on. We
send each other frequent emails - my goodness! I print piles of documents out -
documents she sends me via email.
10:00 I take a short break and help Lois with packing the twins' old toys into our car. She drives to the local United Reform Church to give the toys to the local mother's group, "Urchins" that every Monday gathers in the church.
11:00 We go to the village and pop into the local post office to send two packages to Sarah in Australia and buy more large jiffy bags.
11:30 We get home and I continue to work on the sale of Sarah's apartment. I take another short break for lunch.
15:00 I go to bed and take me a long nap - zzzz !!!
16:15 I get up and we relax with a cup of tea on the couch .... what a day! The nightmare continues ... !!!!
