The IT Crowd” sluttede for omkring 10 år siden.

Danmarks 5. dyreste hus – pris 48 millioner kroner, areal 257 kvadratmeter. Det ligger også i Gentofte.

Danmarks 6. dyreste hus – pris 47 millioner kroner, areal 464 kvadratmeter.

(Paul besøgte os i Columbia, Maryland i december 1982, juletiden og nytåret over.

18:00 Dinner and then we spend the evening on watching TV. They show Come Dine With Me from North Somerset and then the second episode ever of "Sorry", an old sitcom from 1981, starring Ronnie Corbett, the Scottish comedian. The series is about a 41-year-old librarian Timothy Lumsden, who still lives at home with his demanding mother and relaxed father.

20:30 They show an interesting and amusing documentary about Vienna's tourist attractions and sights. The host is Richard Ayoade. Lois and I begin to laugh as soon as we notice Ayoade's face or hear his voice. It's a shame that no one has yet created a sitcom to him, after "The IT Crowd" ended about 10 years ago.

03:45 I get up early and take a look on the internet. I read an interesting article about Denmark's most expensive and cheapest houses. Out of the country's six most expensive houses there are three located in Gentofte, a suburb of Copenhagen, where our oldest daughter, Alison, is living together with her husband, Ed, and their three children. My goodness, the family lives in very upscale surroundings - no doubt about it!!!

Denmark's most expensive house - price 68 million crowns, area 418 square meters (I have no concept of what 418 square meters really means!). It is located in Gentofte.

Denmark's fifth most expensive house - price 48 million crowns, area 257 square meters. It is also located in Gentofte.

Denmark's sixth most expensive house - price 47 million crowns, area 464 square meters. It is also located in Gentofte - my goodness! What a neighborhood!!!

Today is January 6, and would have been Paul's 72nd birthday if he were still alive. Paul was my best friend for 24 years, and he helped me to get together with Lois, the love of my life. He could not attend our wedding in 1972 because he was then on holiday in the United States.

He died in 1993 when he unfortunately drowned. Drowning is a strange way to die - no doubt about it! I once had also a young work-colleague, Norman Roberts, who drowned in the Indian Ocean after a boating accident. I remember that Big Bang Theory's Sheldon advised his friend, Leonard, not to join Stephen Hawking's marine expedition in the North Sea and reminded him on the statistical relationship between drowning, water and boats - oh, wise words !!!!

I miss still today Paul's ironic sense of humor. Come back Paul, all is forgiven !!!!

December 1982 - Little Sarah holds Paul's hand and ...

... little Alison holds mine
(Paul visited us in Columbia, Maryland in December 1982 over Christmas and New Year . He and I took then my daughters Alison (7 years old) and Sarah (5 years old) along to the local neighborhood playground or "tot lot" to play with our Frisbee.)

I think this is the last photo I have of Paul, standing here in the middle of an old town in Suffolk with his wife, Rachel (1987). Paul died six years later (1993) and Rachel married finally again in 2015 after living for 22 years alone in the house.

8:00 Lois has a stomach upset today, so she decides to stay in bed this morning.

10:00 Ross rings at the door. He's exactly 30 minutes late, as usual. He starts by cleaning the carpet in the dining room. In the past two years, our grandchildren, Lily and Jessica, Sarah's 2-year-old twins, have eaten a lot of meals in our dining room, and they dropped then a lot of food on the carpet - my goodness! The small pieces of food, which they dropped, are a small memorial of them for Lois and me, now that they live far away from us in Australia. Nevertheless, we unfortunately get the carpet cleaned and remove these sweet memories of the twins - but the carpet cannot be dirty for ever, no doubt about it !!!!

On 29 November 2015, the twins eat (and drop) food for the last time in our dining room - my goodness!

12:00 Ross has to go off. I write him a check. I hurry out to the kitchen and make lunch.

13:00 Lois has it a little better and gets up. It is fortunate that the bed is still warm when I creep in to take a short nap - no doubt about it !!!

15:30 We go for a short walk in the neighborhood (0.87 miles, 22 minutes, 82 calories). Our itinerary: Borgergade, Søgade and back again.

we go for a short walk in the neighborhood

16:00 We come home and relax with a cup of tea on the couch ...
