De viser Top of the Pops fra januar 1981: endnu flere John
21:00 De viser en interessant dokumentarfilm, ”The Brain with David
The Royal Oak.
Sikke

18:30 Lois and I eat dinner and then we spend the evening on watching TV.
They show Top of the Pops, from January 1981: even more John Lennon songs in
the sentimental wave that followed the singer's death. My Goodness! Come on
people, it's time to get on with our lives!
21:00 They show an interesting documentary, "The Brain with David Eagleman" (Part 1 of 6), which is
about the human brain and how it
works. We believe that we are seeing the reality of everyday life, but in fact our brains start to guess and
imagine large parts of this reality - my
goodness!
David puts the
question: "What is reality?"
This program is so interesting that I not for a second slip into sleep,
which is a great recommendation, in view of my limited abilities when it comes
to evening !!! I must write David a letter - that is both certain and sure !!!!
It may be that he hangs my letter on the wall of his office!
22:00 We go to bed - zzzz !!!!
04:00 I get up early and take a look on the internet.
04:00 I get up early and take a look on the internet.
07:00 It blows, it's cold, it's dark and it was raining a little but I
decide to take a short walk in the neighborhood (1.2 miles, 26 minutes, 107
calories). My route: Borgergade, Møllegade, past the old church, and back again
via Højgade and Deep Street.
The time is 7 o'clock and I go for a short walk in the neighborhood
The time is 7:22 and I pass a local pub, The Royal Oak. Pub staff are
preparing to greet lots of alcoholic Scots (and other people who like to drink
alcohol) for 3 days, when it will be Burns Night. A real bagpipe player is to
join the party. My Goodness! Time flies really away - I am in no doubt !!!!
11:00 I go to bed and take me a long nap - zzzz! I have decided to
experiment with taking a nap in the late morning, instead of early afternoon.
13:00 We eat lunch.
14:00 We begin
to try to sort some of the many things - furniture, equipment, documents, etc.,
which Francis, our son-in-law left in our garage when the family seven weeks
ago moved to Australia. My Goodness! What a mess! For example, four large boxes
of automotive accessories, 4 large boxes of documents concerning Francis's
business, and lot of baby items - including baby items for very young babies -
equipment which the twins have not used for months and Francis in the past year
has failed to get rid of - my goodness!
It is a shame that Francis did not take these things to the recycling center, located at Stoke Orchard near Bishops Cleeve, instead of bringing them here from Evesham to Cheltenham and putting them carefully away in our garage! Now we, Sarah's elderly parents, have to take them either to Stoke Orchard recycling center or to the shops run by charities - my goodness! Especially in view of the fact that the recycling center is located on the way from Evesham to Cheltenham! My God (again) !!!
We must sort out a bit because Furniture Project, a charity that donates furniture and equipment to poor families are sending someone on Monday to look at the equipment, which Francis left and maybe pick up a few things. Oh dear!
16:00 We come in and relax with a cup of tea on the couch ...
