20:00 Derefter viser de to interessante dokumentarfilm.

Jeg falder over Cold Cuts’ ”My Telephone” video fra 1988.

18:30 Lois and I eat dinner and then we spend the evening watching TV. They show the third episode of the second series of "Sorry", an old sitcom from 1982, starring Ronnie Corbett, the Scottish comedian. The series is about a 41-year-old librarian Timothy Lumsden, who still lives at home with his demanding mother and absent-minded father.

In this episode Timmy's cousin, Brinsley, comes to stay with the Lumsden family, because he is temporarily working in the area (he is a surveyor). Timmy's mother, Phyllis, takes a shine to Brinsley and Timmy feels replaced as his mother's "favorite child". But after a week Brinsley decides to leave the family - he cannot cope with Phyllis's attentions any more. When we originally in 1982 saw this series on television, I remember we used to think that Phyllis was a little like my own mother - my goodness, it was certainly true, at least when it came to the "endless cups of tea" - of that I am in no doubt!

Brinsley has become sick to death of Phyllis's "endless cups of tea" - my goodness!

20:00 They then show two interesting documentaries. The first is about Scottish Art (Part 3 of 4).

The second is about the story of the family Romanov, who reigned in Russia over 3 centuries (part 3 of 3), a true tragedy that ended with the revolution and the terrible Lenin. And it is sad to think that Russia always needs the "strong" leader, including today with the terrible Putin. Russia's history in the 19th and 20th centuries was very tragic, but it was also in most European countries - and I must admit that! It has been very fortunate for Lois and me, our families, our parents and our ancestors to have lived, together with our Dutch and Scandinavian neighbors, around the North Sea in Europe's "quiet" corner - that is both certain and sure !!!

22:00 We go to bed - zzzz !!!

03:30 I get up early and take a look on the internet. Then I continue to copy my old VHS tapes to DVD. We are now in 1988 and I stumble over Cold Cuts' video for their song "My Telephone". It is interesting that Cold Cuts was then a very trendy music group, dressed in very trendy clothes, etc., and their song celebrated the phone, but in the video of course all the phones are landline phones, with long cords. So old-fashioned! It was not known then that the mobile phone revolution was just around the corner - my goodness!

I come across Cold Cuts' "My Telephone" video from 1988. So old-fashioned!

08:00 I collect all the information I have about Sarah's and Francis's Saab and write them on a piece of paper, to give it to Bob, our neighbor. I tell him the price that Sarah and Francis are asking. Bob said the other day that one of his many grandchildren is trying at the moment to buy a car.

Francis bought the car in 2014, but he has since had to get it many times repaired. The car still has a few minor problems, for example, the engine warning light that turns on and does not turn off. My Goodness! I send Sarah an email and attach my "Saab information" so Sarah can approve the facts.

09:30 Lois and I drive over to the local Sainsbury's supermarket to do the shopping. We get home and put all the items away and relax with a cup of coffee on the couch.

11:00 We give our neighbor, Bob, the information we have relating to Sarah's and Francis's Saab. He says he thinks his granddaughter unfortunately is no longer looking for a used car, but has begun to pay for a brand new car - my goodness! But he takes the information into his house to browse through it. It is possible that he or one of his relatives may decide to buy the Saab if they think they can sell it at a higher price.

11:30 We go for a walk in the neighborhood (1.8 miles, 40 minutes, 164 calories). Our itinerary: Bouncers Lane, Imjinvej and back again via Priorsvej. When we get to the foot of Cleeve HIll, we take a few photos of each other.

The time is 11:30 and we go for a walk in the neighborhood

As we reach Cleeve Hill, we take a few photos of each other

13:00 We eat lunch and then I go to bed and take me a long nap - zzzzz !!!!

15:00 I get up and we relax with a cup of tea on the couch ....
