De viser to

kostumer, ligesom Lucy Worsley!

by.
i København.
stykke kage – nam nam nam!
Alison
imponerede over deres kat-venlige og omsorgsfulde attitude.

lur – zzzzz !!!!
15:00 Jeg får en e-mail fra
Liverpool Victoria, min bilforsikring selskab.

18:00 Lois's symptoms have gone away, so we eat both dinner, as usual, and spend the evening watching a little television. They show two interesting documentaries on BBC4. The first is about the history of Scottish art (first part of 4) and the second is about the story of the family Romanov, who reigned in Russia over 3 centuries (first part of 3).
We enjoy specially the second film, with Lucy Worsley as host. It is true that Lucy has a terrible weakness for dressing up in historical costumes in her documentaries (Lois says, what woman would not do it if the opportunity presented itself? !!!), But I must admit that this was a really
good presentation, packed with information.
It is useful to remember that Russia always were hundreds of years behind the times, compared to western Europe, even under leaders like Peter the Great, who had visited England and Holland, and thought he was well on the way to "modernize "Russia. Anyway it's no wonder that today's Russia is today's Russia, and Putin is Putin.

Flashback to 2008 in Bath and happier times. Lois
shows that she also has a penchant for dressing up in historical costumes, like
Lucy Worsley. Come on, Lois! Good
luck!
22:00 We go to bed - zzzzz !!!
03:45 I get up early and take a look on the internet. I see that it's still
freezing cold in Denmark, while here in England we have not seen winter yet and
we are already seeing early January daffodils bloom in the gardens – good
gracious, what madness! And what next? Comets in the sky, or plagues of
grasshoppers?

09:00 Ian, the
local window cleaner, rings doorbell and begins to clean our windows.
10:00 Ian has
to be leaving, and I pay him £ 11 as usual. We drive over to Bishops Cleeve, a
nearby town. We slip into Lloyds Bank, so Lois can deposit £ 10 on her church's
business account. Then we buy fruit at the greengrocer and in the post office
we purchase an Octonauts magazine, we need to send it to Isaac, one of our
three grandchildren in Copenhagen. We slip then into the local Tesco
supermarket and I buy a DVD case of leather: I can store in this case the new
DVDs I have dubbed my old VHS tapes on - hurray! The
case can hold 24 DVDs - hurray (again)! Eventually we slip into a
local cafe, we drink a cup of coffee and eat a piece of cake - nam nam nam!
We are
aware that it is not as mild today as yesterday. Could it be that winter is finally
on its way? It's time to turn our nose back toward our car. On the way home we slip into a local cat-hotel called
Pussy Willows Cattery and we are looking at the individual one-cat huts where
the cats live and sleep. We are considering sending Minx, Alison
and Ed's cat to Pussy Willows when we fly over to Australia later this year to
stay with Sarah and Francis for a few months. Alison and Sarah are our two
daughters. We talk with hotel staff and we are impressed with their cat-friendly
and caring attitude. We drive home.

13:00 We eat lunch and then I go to bed and take me a long nap - zzzzz !!!!
15:00 I get an email from Liverpool Victoria, my car insurance company.
They say that Apollo Accident Repair Centre will soon begin to repair our Honda
Jazz, but unfortunately it will not be finished until 19 January. My Goodness!
And the damage to the car was barely visible - oh! It is fortunate that we have
our almost-brand-new Renault Clio, we can drive in, if necessary - no doubt
about it!
16:00 We relax with a cup of tea on the couch ....
