HER begynder weekenden !!!!

1986->1987 Kim Wilde synger nytåret ind med ”You Keep Me Hanging On” – hurra!

(februar) British Airways bliver privatiseret
(marts) Sovietiske tv giver Maggie Thatcher en 45-minutters interview – hurra!
(juni) Maggie Thatchers konservativ regering bliver valgt for tredje gang.

Tvillingerne er desværre meget generte over for os. Trist, men desværre uundgåeligt!

Totalt mareridt!!!

Friday, 01/08/2016 at 1630 till Saturday, 01.09.2016 at 1629

18:00 We have dinner and spend the evening watching a little television. They show The Good Old Days on BBC4, a show that was first broadcast by the BBC in 1983. The program tried to recreate the atmosphere of the Victorian and Edwardian "music-hall" or "vaudeville".

21:00 Then we see an interesting drama-documentary about Britain's abdication crisis in 1936, as seen through the eyes of the two women who were more involved: Wallace Simpson, King Edwards mistress, and Elizabeth, the king's sister - wife of the future King George 6th

22:00 We go to bed - zzzzz !!!!

03:15 I get up early and I look a little at the Internet. I have received an email from Sarah, our youngest daughter, who recently moved to Australia. She says she has spoken on the phone with her lawyer in Cheltenham and she will talk with Lois and me later in the day. She wants us to fill in different forms in connection with the sale of her old apartment in Cheltenham, send the forms to her lawyer in the mail, scan them in and send them to her via email. My goodness, I predict a lot of work, no doubt about it!

the weekend starts HERE!

05:00 I continue to dub to DVD some of the songs I recorded on my second and third VHS tapes ever, starting in 1986. At last we come to 1987's songs - hurray, I was sick to death of 1986! I find that I captured on video the moment when 1986 turned into 1987, during a concert which Kim Wilde was in the process of giving.

1986->1987 Kim Wilde sings the new year in with "You Keep Me Hanging On" - hurray!

Kim Wilde did not know at the time that there would be many good things in the coming months, including:
(February) British Airways is privatized
(March) Soviet television gives Maggie Thatcher a 45-minute interview - hurray!
(June) Maggie Thatcher's conservative government is elected for the third time.
(June) Ronald Reagan visits West Berlin and calls on Gorbachev to tear down the Berlin Wall. Is this where Gorbachev got the idea from ???
Happy times !!!!

9:00 Lois and I go into the village and pop in at Waghornes, the local butcher, to buy meat, sausages, cheese and so on, and then at the local Morrisons mini supermarket to buy vegetables. 10:00 We skype with Sarah, her husband, Francis, and their 2.5 year old twins, Lily and Jessica. The twins are unfortunately very shy with us. Sad, but unfortunately inevitable! They have not seen us for 6 weeks - oh!

12:00 We eat lunch and then I go to bed and take me a long nap - zzzzz !!!

14:00 We talk on the phone with Sarah about the documents and forms, she wants us to fill in in connection with the sale of her old apartment in Cheltenham. We must ring Francis's cell phone number, which is not exactly cheap - oh, I'm in no doubt! The call lasts 2 hours and is a total nightmare - my goodness! I have not the faintest idea how much it costs. Total nightmare !!!
