uha!
Men mange
De to pigers
Agnes, Andris fraseparerede kone, falder over de 2 afrikanske
by – uha!
inviteret, for eksempel Spiro Agnew, Suharto, Imelda Marcos, Haile Selassie,

18:30 Dinner
and then we spend the evening watching TV. We see the second episode of
"Trapped" on vhs.
The most important elements of the action are as follows. Police in the isolated town (Andri, the local police chief, plus 1 man and 1 woman) arrest the suspected Lithuanian people-smuggler Jonas, who arrived with the Danish ferry, but later he managed to escape and lock into a small room the policeman who has been guarding him - oh dear! And Andri's estranged wife, Agnes and her new boyfriend come across the two African women whom Jonas hid in his van. The police take care of them. The women move in temporarily with the city's policewoman and her husband.
Hrafn, the city's mayor (an ex-cop) is keen to help the police - he finds out that a Swiss man named Bjorn Weissman, who was a passenger on the ferry, has disappeared. Maybe he's the dismembered corpse fishermen found in the sea - oh dear!
The ferry's mysterious young kitchen assistant, Hjörtur, comes to stay with his mother - his boss on the ferry has fired him - oh dear (again)! Hjörtur breaks into the local fish factory, takes photos of the dismembered corpse in the factory's mega-freezer, and puts photos up on Twitter - my goodness! One of the ferry's passengers saw Hjörtur quarrel with the Swiss man who has since disappeared - oh dear! Very suspicious!
There is another meeting about the mayor's project to build a mega-port in the city, using Chinese money - my goodness! But many local landowners become suspicious and are not keen on selling. They remember the economic crisis that took place in 2008!
A mysterious man with a big beard monitors everything that takes place in the city, using a powerful telescope - my goodness!
At the end of the episode Andri's two young daughters have disappeared. They have gone out of the house despite a snowstorm to find their little cousin who has disappeared a little earlier - my goodness! The two girls' parents, along with her mother's new boyfriend, begin to try to find the three children.
My Goodness! What a mess!
Agnes, Andri's estranged wife, comes across the two African women, whom
Jonas has smuggled into Iceland. Andri, the local police chief, comes to talk
with them.
A mysterious bearded man monitors everything that takes place in the small
town - oh dear!
21:00 Then we see an interesting documentary that is about a mega-sumptuous feast, which the Shah of Iran held in 1971, eight years before the Islamic revolution in the country (1979).
The celebration was an incredible event that took place in the middle of a desert, in Persepolis. The party celebrated the 2500 anniversary of King Cyrus the Great's establishment of the Persian empire. Tons of kings, queens and other monarchs (or their representatives) were invited, for example, Spiro Agnew, Suharto, Imelda Marcos, Haile Selassie, King Hussein, Tito, Prince Philip, Prince Rainier and Grace Kelly and so on. They all lived in lavish "tents". Such a celebration had never happened before and it will never happen again - that I know for sure!
The Shah sometimes gets a bad press, but in my opinion he was a far more reasonable leader than all the leaders Iran has had since the revolution - that is both certain and definite!!!! If the Iranian people had not expelled the Shah, today's Iran would probably have gradually become a good, democratic and peaceful country with a decent free economy and free press, equality and rights for women, etc., etc. - hurray! You may say that I am a dreamer .... but I'm not the only one. I hope some day you'll join us and the world will live as one ... !!!!! Ha ha ha !!!!
You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one ha ha ha!
22:00 We go to bed - zzzzz !!!!
3:15 I get up
early and take a look on the internet.
10:00 We drink a cup of coffee and talk about what we should do in terms of the house and Minx, Alison and Ed's cat, when we go off to Australia in April to live with our youngest daughter, Sarah, and her family for 10 weeks. I send a text to Alison, and she will also do a little research on the subject. We have an idea that we could book a "room" for Minx at a local cat-hotel called Pussy Willows Cattery, starting from the second part of our absence. Maybe Stephen and Francis, our neighbors will be willing to take care of Minx during the first part of our holiday. It will be cheaper, and perhaps less traumatic for Minx.
12:30 We have to be off. We drive over to Leckhampton and pop into a few shops which two charities manage, Age UK and the International Red Cross. We deliver yet another box of baby clothes and children's books, which our youngest daughter, Sarah, left with us when she moved to Australia 10 weeks ago with Francis, her husband and their 2 and a half year old twins, Lily and Jessica.
13:00 Lunch at Moran's Wine Bar on Bathvej, a belated Valentine's Day lunch. For the main course I eat Gloucester sausages, mashed potatoes with mustard, red onion and red wine sauce with raspberry and almond Bakewell tart with custard - yummy !!! On the way home we pop into Cook Shop and buy 3 delicious ready meals, that we can make and eat when we are dead tired - hurray!

14:30 We get home and go to bed - zzzz !!!! We get up and I look a little on
the internet. I see that Sarah and her small family did some kayaking again
yesterday, on a river that is located near Perth in West Australia - hurray
(again)!
