To måneder senere vandt denne sang årets Eurovision Melodi Grand Prix, der fandt sted i Dublin – hurra!

Richard Skinner selv vil deltage i løjerne!

20:00 Derefter viser de ”The Good Old Days” fra 1974, et program der prøvede at genskabe stemningen af den viktorianske og edwardianske music-hall eller vaudeville (dvs variététeater).

Lyn Kennington fortolker den store gamle sang, ”Look for the Silver Lining” (1919).

English translation
18:30 We eat dinner, "shepherd's pie" (pie of hash topped with mashed potato and browned in the oven) with cabbage, and pancakes for dessert, served with brown sugar and lemon juice - yumyum! We usually eat pancakes on Shrove Tuesday, but this year it was not possible, because of the unexpected visit of Lois's cousin, Brian and his wife, Ruth - oh dear!

19:30 Then we spend the evening watching TV.

They show Top of the Pops from 26 March 1981 (my 35th birthday - hooray!). The program's host, Richard Skinner, says that tonight's show consists of "12 great tracks", but on this I personally do not agree with him !!! In my opinion, the songs are mostly a pile of crap - oh dear!

At the end of the program we hear finally a song that everyone in England still remembers: "Making Your Mind Up" interpreted by Bucks Fizz. Bucks Fizz we do not see, but just young people in the study who begin to dance on the dance floor - what an explosion of euphoric joy! Two months later, this song won the year's Eurovision Song Contest, which took place in Dublin - hurray!

Richard Skinner himself wants to join in the fun - hurray!

20:00 They then show the "The Good Old Days" from 1974, a program that tried to recreate the atmosphere of the Victorian and Edwardian "music-hall" or "vaudeville" (ie music halls).

a13 Lyn Kennington interprets the great old song, "Look for the Silver Lining" (1919) . Wise words - I am in no doubt !! The song was first a hit shortly before my mother was born - my goodness!

star of the show is Ken Dodd, the comedian, with his obligatory portion of crazy verbal humor!

22:00 We go to bed - I read 8 pages of my bedtime-book, "William Pitt the Younger" by William Hague, before I drift into sleep - zzzzzz !!!!

3:15 I get up early and take a look on the internet.

11:00 I go to bed and take me a long nap - zzzzzzz !!!!

12:30 We eat lunch and then we must be off. We drive over to Croome Court, an old mansion, surrounded by a huge park, located near Pershore. In the mansion's parking lot we meet up with our friends, Alf and Mari-Anne, and Andy and Angie. It rains a little and it's freezing cold, but we look around in the park surrounding the mansion. The park was the first, which Capability Brown, the famous landscape architect, designed (between 1754 and 1760). It's strange to think, but during the 2nd World War, an RAF base was built in the park, also a research center, where they worked on advanced radar systems, new fighter jets and so on. My goodness! What a crazy world we live in !!!!

we look around the park. In the background we see the old mansion.

16:30 We are a bit cold so we slip into the mansion's café. We drink a cup of tea and eat a piece of cake - yumyum! Lois talks with Mari-Anne in the cafe, while Alf delivers a classic (almost "textbook") photo bomb!
