Francis, havde meget travlt.
kysten, nord for Perth.

de populære tv-shows "Top of the Pops" og "Jim'll Fix It".
for, at ingen ville tro dem. Derudover mente nogle af hans mandlige kollegaer i
1960’erne, 1970’erne, at det var okay at opføre sig sådan.
19:00 Vi ser
lidt fjernsyn. De viser ”Ugly House to Lovely House”. Lois og jeg finder det
morsomt, at se moderne arkitekter “opgradere” gammeldags husene. Deres arbejde
fragmenter – uha!
Unødvendigt at sige, at udestuen ser forfærdelig ud!!!
par ting: billige fødselsdagskort i Marks & Spencer, yoghurtpulver i
The Brewery-indkøbscentret på Højgade (Lower
High Street): arbejdet går fremad!
The Brewery-indkøbscentret – arkitektens vision
11:30 Vi tager bussen hjem.
til sidst har Stagecoach opsat elektroniske
skærme ved selskabets busstopsteder i
byen – hurra!

17:00 We have not heard much from our youngest daughter, Sarah, in the last few days and we did not know if it was because she and her husband, Francis, were very busy. But I log into Facebook and I see that a few days ago they decided to take a ride in the car (plus trailer) out along the coast, north of Perth. The trip so far has been very exciting: the first day they experienced a forest fire, the second day a flat battery on the car in a deserted place, the third day they had to rush to the emergency room with Lily, one of their 2 and a half year old twins (this "emergency room" consisted of a cabin - my God!), but Lily is doing well now, thank God. My God (again) - what a holiday!

18:30 We have dinner and then we listen to radio. We hear an interesting radio
program about the Jimmy Savile affair.
The late Jimmy Savile is suspected of having committed hundreds of crimes,
including many many rapes. Television veteran Savile was for a number of years
the program presenter for the popular TV shows "Top of the Pops" and
"Jim'll Fix It". He died in 2011 aged 84. Over 80 percent of the
victims were underage girls.
It's strange to think that he escaped punishment and for so many years cultivated an image of a religious idealist who was dedicated to the welfare of the young and the sick. Most people did not know about his crimes, and the few people who knew or suspected, were afraid to report him, for fear that no one would believe them. In addition, some of his male colleagues in the 1960s, the 1970s, thought that it was okay to behave like that.
19:00 We see a little television. They show "Ugly House to Lovely House". Lois and I find it amusing to see modern architects "upgrade" old-fashioned houses. Their work results in enormous windows (ie lack of privacy), a lack of interior walls, long low-back sofas against the walls, etc., so the house starts to look like a miniature office-building - my goodness! The architect in this episode, Greg Blee, is very fond of "shards", ie buildings that look like huge fragments - oh dear! - shaped like The Shard in London, a 95-storey skyscraper), so he decides to design a conservatory in the form of a huge fragment and the house owners get it built on. Needless to say that the conservatory looks horrible!!! In our view, the program should rather be called "Lovely House to Ugly House" - my goodness!

22:00 We go to bed. I read six pages of my bedtime book, "William Pitt the
Younger" by William Hague, before I drift into dreamland - zzzzz !!!!!
3:45 I get up early and take a look at the internet.
09:30 We have to be off. We take a bus into the city center to buy a few
things: cheap birthday cards in Marks & Spencer, yoghurt powder in Holland
& Barrett, a tea strainer and a sink strainer in Wilkinsons. We pop into
Drukkers and drink a cup of coffee and eat a piece of cake - yummy!!!!!!
We look around the Brewery Mall, which is currently being built, developed
and expanded between Højgade (Lower High Street) and Swindonvej.

11:30 We take the bus home.
at last Stagecoach have set up electronic
screens at the company's bus stops in the city - hurray! We see them today for
the first time.
12:30 We eat lunch. Afterwards I go to bed and take a long nap - zzzzzz
!!!!
15:00 I get up and we relax with a cup of tea on the sofa.
