”Can You Feel It”, fortolket af BBCs ”Legs & Co” dansere

under Danmarks valgkampagne – hurra!

18:30 We have dinner and spend the rest of the evening watching TV. They show Top of the Pops from 2 April 1981.

The music is again mostly junk and almost all the songs we hear, have long since been forgotten and buried, though I vaguely remember Stevie Wonder's "Lately" and "Can You Feel It", interpreted by The Jacksons and BBC's "Legs & Co" dancers.

"Can You Feel It", interpreted by the BBC's "Legs & Co" dancers

The best song was again, "Making Your Mind Up", interpreted by Bucks Fizz. The show was broadcast April 2, 1981, just two days before the year's Eurovision Song Contest, which was slated to take place in Dublin. The group had now perfected their dance number where amongst other things the skirts on the two women in the group were ripped off.

the famous moment when the skirts on Cheryl Baker and Jay Aston are torn off - my goodness! Such goings-on !!!

20:00 They then show the "The Good Old Days" from 1970, a program that tried to recreate the atmosphere of the Victorian and Edwardian music-hall or vaudeville (ie variététeater). But it is very disappointing that the episode of the show is not what was advertised in the Radio Times - bummer!

We have been looking forward to seeing Frankie Howerd, one of our favorite comedians, also Wayne Sleep, the famous dancer, because Wayne, now in retirement, has recently appeared in "The Real Marigold Hotel," where a group of famous British pensioners are testing out a hotel in India, in order to decide whether they would be willing to spend their old age over there, or not!

Wayne Sleep in India: it is always fascinating to see how much celebrities and famous people from our youth have aged

22:00 We go to bed. I read nine pages of my bedtime book, "William Pitt the Younger" by William Hague, before I drift into sleep - zzzzzzz !!!!

05:00 I get up early and take a look on the internet. I see that the Danish government leader, Lars Løkke Rasmussen, has said that David Cameron's new EU agreement is also a benefit for Denmark. Hoorah! Go Løkke! You are the UK's best friend in Europe - of that, I am in no doubt !!!

Flashback to June 2015 and happier times.
When I took this picture,
Lars Løkke Rasmussen, the current prime minister,
was about to shake our hand in the middle of Copenhagen
during the Danish election campaign - hurrah!
Remember us and Britain, Løkke, when you are in your EU meetings !!!

I also see an article about Gentofte Riding Club, which is located in an upscale residential neighborhood, and only about 200m from the house where our oldest daughter, Alison, lives, along with Ed, her husband, and their three children: Josie (9), Rosalind (7) and Isaac (5). When Josie was younger, she learned to ride a horse at the Riding Club.

According to the article, many local people are not satisfied with the Riding Club's plans to remodel and expand, with help from the municipality, in order to meet the stricter requirements for the welfare of horses, as horse laws from 2007 call for.

Many believe the Riding Club's buildings are dilapidated, and there is not a lot of room for horses, in spite of the many years in which the local municipality has given the club money - oh dear!

Many believe the Riding Club's plans are stupid. Buildings are dilapidated and the area and the parking lot is much too small to be able to establish an international show here. My goodness, what a mess (again)!

10:00 It's raining, but it is not cold today. I fool around in the living-room all morning. How lazy I am some days!

13:00 We eat lunch and then I go to bed for a few hours.

15:00 I get up and we relax with a cup of tea and a piece of bread with home-made jam - yummy!
