Vi går i gang med at samle
vores 5 kasser babytøj i entréen.
Priscillas seng. Han beder os om, at vække ham i morgen kl 7 (men en kop te!),
fordi Ruth vil hente ham kl 8 – du godeste! Ruth kommer til at blive udmattet –
ingen tvivl om det!
21:30 Lois og jeg slapper af i sofaen. Vi blader igennem Lois’s gamle
familiefotos.
mine forældre i 1946.
Celine Dion havde dengang lige meddelt, at
i spisestuen.
indlægssåler, hun bestilte, mens hun stadig boede i England. Du godeste! Sikke

17:30 Lois and I eat dinner a little earlier than usual, in the event that Ruth and Brian come back tonight from the hospital and we have to give them food - oh dear! We have not heard anything yet from the hospital where Brian, Lois's cousin, and his wife, Ruth, are sitting at Priscilla's bedside. Priscilla is Ruth's younger sister, and she is seriously ill in a local hospital. It is possible that Ruth and / or Brian will want to stay with us, so we are preparing Sarah's old room, which is currently stuffed with things Sarah and Francis left with us - my goodness!
19:00 Alf, our friend, calls us. He will drive by at 10pm and get the rest of the baby clothes, that our youngest daughter, Sarah, and her husband, Francis, left with us, when they moved a few months ago to Australia with their 2 and a half year old twins, Lily and Jessica. We begin to gather our 5 boxes of baby clothes in the hallway. My Goodness! Alf and Mari-Anne, his wife, have to go tomorrow to Birmingham to attend the funeral of Alf's former best man, and they have offered to hand in the baby clothes at a charity which Lois supports .
21:00 Brian comes back from the hospital. He says he and Ruth have already eaten dinner there. He is very tired and wants to go straight to bed. We show him Sarah's old room. He says that Ruth will stay overnight in the hospital by Priscilla's bedside. He asks us to wake him in the morning at 7 (with a cup of tea!), Because he wants to pick up Ruth at 8 am - my goodness! Ruth's going to be exhausted - no doubt about it!
21:30 Lois and I relax on the couch. We flip through Lois's old family photos. We find a photo of Ruth and Brian's wedding in 1960 in Bournemouth. Lois and Priscilla attended as bridesmaids.

Flashback to Ruth and Brian's wedding in 1960 in Bournemouth -
Lois to the left, with her parents, and Priscilla, Ruth's sister, is standing
on Brian's right
Lois, at 14 years, took part in Ruth and Brian's wedding as a
bridesmaid
Coincidentally we come across also a Christmas card that Lois's parents sent to
my parents in 1946. Lois was 7 months and I was 9 months old. My Goodness! What
a crazy world we live in !!!!!
Flashback to Christmas 1946: A Christmas card that Lois's parents

22:00 Alf drives by and picks up the rest of the baby clothes - hurray! What a
day!!! We go to bed - zzzzzz !!!!!
3:00 I get up
early and take a look on the internet. Afterwards I continue to copy my old VHS
tapes to DVD. Unfortunately, we are now at the beginning of 1994, when there
were piles of crap in the charts and I was starting to get sick of recording
pop songs on vhs. I was about to grow up finally - no doubt about it !!! Celine
Dion at the time had just announced that she was getting engaged to her
manager, who happens just the other day (in January 2016) to have died. My
goodness, what a coincidence!
7:00 I make a cup of tea and bring it up to Brian, sleeping in Sarah's old room. He comes down the stairs and we all three eat breakfast in the dining room.
08:00 Ruth, Brian's wife, who's been in the hospital at Priscilla's bedside, sends him a text message. Priscilla's husband, Brian 2, and her son, Matthew, have shown up, so she no longer has to remain in the hospital. Priscilla is Ruth's younger sister, and she is very seriously ill.
09:00 Brian has to be off. He has to be at the local hospital to pick up Ruth, his wife, and they will drive back home to Bournemouth today. Lois and I relax on the couch with a cup of coffee.
10:00 Sarah, our youngest daughter, who a few months ago moved to Australia, sends me an email. She has not received the special insoles, she ordered while she still lived in England. My Goodness! What poor service she gets from them !!! I discuss the problem on the phone with Jackie, one of the clinic's secretaries, and she says she will immediately send an email about it to Lawrence, the clinic's podiatrist, who unfortunately as usual has two days off, including Wednesday. Damn!
11:00 I look a little on twitter, and I see that Caroline Wozniacki, the Danish tennis darling, now has 1,000,000 followers on twitter - hurray! But it is not quite fortunate when Queen Margrethe invites her to a ball at the royal palace, and she can unfortunately not accept - my goodness, poor tennis darling!

how decadent we are!
16:00 We get up and relax with a cup of tea on the sofa.
