DLT præsenterer David Bowie, der synger ”(We can be) Heroes (just for one day)”

18:00 Our oldest daughter, Alison, who lives in Copenhagen along with Ed, her husband and their 3 children, sends me a text message. The family came home this morning after a week's skiing holiday in Norway. She has spent the day washing clothes, etc., for tomorrow is a school day. She suggests that we skype tomorrow at 8.30pm Danish time) - hurray!

18:30 Lois and I eat dinner (our traditional Sunday dinner): roast lamb, roast potatoes, Brussels sprouts and carrots (with mint sauce - yumyum!), With baked apples for dessert - yummy!

21:00 Then we spend the rest of the evening watching TV. They show War and Peace (sixth episode of 6).

Dolokhov saves Pierre from the French army, who are starting to withdraw from Russia - hurray! Russia also is saved - hurray! Napoleon is on the skids - of that I am in no doubt !!!!

Marya and Nikolai get together and get married - hurray!

Natasha and Pierre get together and marry - hurray!

the series has a positive conclusion with a big family picnic in the woods! Hurrah (again)!
Shut UP!!! What a nice man Tolstoy was - I know that for sure !!!

22:00 We go to bed. I read 8 pages of my bedtime-book, "William Pitt the Younger" by William Hague, and then I slide into sleep - zzzzz !!!!!

04:15 I get up early and take a look at the television. Afterwards I continue to copy my old VHS tapes to DVD. We are now in 1993. I tripped over a program from "DJ Heaven" series on BBC-TV. Each program in the series will focus on one or another BBC disc jockey. This episode is all about Dave Lee "DLT" Travis, and the following episode focuses on Jimmy Savile, whom the program announcer calls "the saintly Jimmy Savile."

We now know that Savile during his career committed many sexual abuse of hundreds of women and underage girls, but he died in 2011 before his activities came to light, and he escaped punishment. Had the program's annnouncer heard rumors and spoke ironically, when he called him "the saintly Jimmy Savile"?

Dave Lee "DLT" Travis himself was punished in 2014 with suspended sentence of 3 months for sexual assault against a woman. He was one of the BBC's most famous DJs, especially in the 1970s when he presented for the first time many future hits.

1978 - he is the first DJ to present Blondie for British television viewers

some photos that DLT certainly would rather forget about

11:30 We go to the local Waitrose supermarket, where there is a Thomas Cook travel agency and we reserve our flights to Australia - my goodness! We feel very brave today - I have no doubt! It turns out that Thomas Cook can offer us the tickets at a much lower price than we saw on the internet - hurray! The price was about £ 8,000 instead of £ 16,000, including hotels in Birmingham and in Dubai. My God (again)!

It is incredible. We are so happy that we decided to visit a travel agent instead of booking online - it is both certain and sure!!!! We're flying Emirates business class between England and Australia, like Jennifer Aniston, and when we arrive in England at the end of the holiday, we get a free Emirates taxi home to Cheltenham - hurray! Between Melbourne and Adelaide (1 hour), and between Adelaide and Perth (3 hours), we fly economy, which is much cheaper.

To get booked our flights and hotels lasts 2 hours and afterwards we slip into the supermarket's café and have lunch.

15:00 We drive home and I go to bed. I take a long nap - zzzz !!!!

16:20 I get up and we relax with a cup of tea on the sofa.
