18:00 Lois
mig ind i køkkenet for at lave mad.
18:30 Lois
For første gang i vores lands historie havde almindelige folk penge
fortsætter med at se lidt fjernsyn: ”Friday Night Dinner”.
Denne serie
skynder mig ind i køkkenet og laver to kopper te.
Perth, Australien.
slut i oktober.
hun vil deltage i.

Saturday, August 27 at 1630 to Sunday, August 28, 2016 at
1629
18:00 Lois calls me on the phone. She will be back home
no later than 18:30. She and a group of friends from her church have used the
afternoon to distribute in Upton-on-Severn some pamphlets that give details of
a new series of Bible Seminars, which the church is to hold starting from next
month. I rush into the kitchen to cook.
18:30 Lois comes home again and we eat dinner: corn beef,
mashed potatoes and baked beans - yum-yum!
19:30 We use the evening to watch TV from Thursday and
Friday shows, firstly "Full Steam Ahead", an interesting documentary
(6th and last part), which is about the development of the railways in Britain
in the 19th century . For the first time in our country's history ordinary
people had money in their pocket to spend on fun, for example, trips to the sea
or the countryside.
Unfortunately, I drift asleep now and then during the
program. My Goodness! I am now well advanced in years - no doubt about it!
20:30 We continue to watch TV: "Friday Night
Dinner".
This series is about a Jewish family living in the London
area: mother, father and their two adult sons, Adam and Jonny. In this section,
the two "boys" become heartbroken when they find out that their
parents would like to sell the house they both grew up in - my God, they're so
immature! A very entertaining show, but I think sometimes, it is due more to
the actors' talents than the script and plot. My goodness, I am becoming a true
sourpuss - I know that for sure!
22:00 We go to bed - zzzzz !!!!!
05:00 I get up early and do one of my routine Danish
vocabulary tests.
08:00 I hurry into the kitchen and make two cups of tea.
I bring them up to our bedroom. We lie in the bed and drink tea. We get up and
eat breakfast.
10:00 We speak a little on Skype with our youngest
daughter, Sarah, and her 3-year-old twins, Lily and Jessica. Sarah works as an
accountant for Burger King / Hungry Jack's in Perth, Australia. Currently she
is working on a 6-month contract that will end in October. The company has
offered her a permanent job in its head office in Sydney, but the salary is the
same and the prices are much higher over there so she declined the offer. But
she has also asked the management to extend her current contract, so she can
have greater security.
We speak a little on Skype with Sarah and her 3-year-old
twins.
We see the twins play with the little playhouse that Lois
and I gave them
10:45 Lois has to be off. There are two services that are
taking place today in Tewkesbury, which she wants to participate in. She is riding with her friend, Maggie.
I have a little time alone, so I jump up on my exercise
bike and I ride 3 miles (5 km). Hooray! I know I can get well again!
12:30 I eat lunch.
14:00 I look a little on Facebook. Our older daughter,
Alison, and Ed, her husband, have spent a few days in Sweden (Marstrand, near
Gothenburg). Ed has a work conference, which he has to attend now and then, but
Alison can play tourist!

a short walk in the harbour.
14:45 I go for a short walk (1 mile) in the neighborhood. My route is Borgergade, Møllegade, war monument and back home again via Højgade and Dybegade.
16:00 Lois comes home again and we relax with a cup of
tea on the sofa.
