English translation

18:00 We have dinner and then we see a little television. They show Grand Designs, a TV series in which neurotic men design, and have built, huge ugly houses with huge rooms, uncomfortable sofas, huge heavy dining tables and huge windows without curtains or blinds. They are mostly men with no real hobbies, men who love to hold dinner parties and look all day at beautiful views.

The show's host, Kevin McCloud, walks around with a hard hat on his head and always praises these ugly houses to the skies.

The worst thing with today's new house, which a young couple, Bram and Lisa, get built, is that Bram must borrow £ 3 million off the banks and off his friends, to be able to afford to complete the project - my goodness, he's going to be in debt for life!

the house has a gruesome huge ugly heavy front door - my goodness! - ...

... and lots of wasted space! Bram and Lisa intend to hold frequent dinner parties, but unfortunately the house is on the Isle of Wight, so the journey from London is long and complicated!

21:00 We listen a little to the radio, an interesting program about "Virtual Reality".

Scientists are currently in the process of experimenting with virtual reality in the medical world. For example, patients suffering from burns, can be immersed in a virtual reality ice-cold polar scene, and thus have less pain. Patients who suffer from mental illness, such as paranoia or dizziness, can be immersed in the specific situations they fear, and thus they can learn to cope with them - my goodness! What a crazy world we live in!

But there is however a problem with Virtual Reality, and this problem may make it less common than some scientists have predicted. The problem is that people do not like having to wear special equipment on the head, for example, headsets or special glasses and so on. People are so picky and touchy - oh my! Such goings-on !!!!

22:00 We go to bed - zzzzzz !!!!

05:30 I get up early and do one of my routine vocabulary tests. I hurry into the kitchen and make two cups of tea. I bring them up to our bedroom. We lie in bed and drink tea. We get up and eat breakfast.

10:00 It's raining again, so I read the first chapter of my Danish novel, Klinkevals. I managed to read the first 45 pages of this book before we flew to Australia in April, but unfortunately I have forgotten the plot of these pages, so I decide to start the book again - my goodness!

12:30 We eat lunch and then we go to bed for a few hours. I read 5 pages of my bedtime-book on Napoleon.

16:00 We get up and relax with a cup of tea on the sofa.
