meget begejstret over denne resultat. Mange håbede, at denne såkaldte ”nye
universet.
nationalpark i Sydaustralien.

18:00 We eat dinner.
Then Lois must be off out. There is a Bible class taking place tonight, that she
wants to participate in. She needs to go to Tewkesbury - Bible class starts at
19:45.
20:00 I have a little
time alone, and therefore I see a little television. They show an interesting
documentary that's about CERN and CERN's biggest particle accelerator, LHC.
Last year, researchers
found an abnormality in a graph, which they believed could mean that the LHC
had discovered the existence of a new particle that existed in the universe for
a moment just after the Big Bang 14 billion years ago.
During most of the
program, we see a number of researchers who were all very excited about this
result. Many hoped that this so-called "new particle" would prove one
or another of their own personal theories about the universe. One researcher
would have the new particle prove that there are actually more than three
dimensions in the universe, for example, and that because of our size (because
we are either too small or too large) we can only see three of them.
But toward the end of
the program it becomes clear that the abnormality that researchers found last
year was actually only a statistical fluctuation - my goodness! What a disappointment!
22:00 Lois comes home
and we go to bed - zzzzz !!!!!
5:00 I get up early and
do one of my routine Danish vocabulary tests.
08:00 I hurry into the
kitchen and make two cups of tea. I bring them up to our bedroom. We lie in bed
and drink the tea.
09:00 We get up and eat
breakfast.
09:30 Lois has to be
off. She has an appointment with the local hairdresser. She comes back and we
relax with a cup of coffee on the couch.
10:00 We prepare for our
U3A Danish group's next meeting, which takes place here at our house at 14:30.
We print out the paragraphs, which we both wrote about our holiday in Australia
and we attach photos. Lois chooses two photos: the first is a photo of herself
in front of the famous limestone formations, called the Twelve Apostles, located
in Victoria. Her cousin, Sylvia, stands to the right.
The second photo is a
photo of herself while she feeds a kangaroo in a national park in South
Australia.
For my part, I choose a
photo of me and Lois with the city and harbor of Perth as the background.
12:00 We eat lunch.
Afterwards I go to bed and have a giant nap - zzzzz !!!
14:00 I get up and
prepare for our Danish group's next meeting.
14:30 Diana, Scilla and
Joy arrive and we do our routine Danish exercises together. Joe and our Danish
woman-friend Jeanette cannot take part. They are away from Cheltenham this
week.
Lois and I read aloud
our paragraphs on our holiday in Australia and we talk about the differences
between England and Australia.
16:00 Group members have
to go. Lois and I relax with a cup of tea on the sofa.
