Men Lady Evelyn kalder ham ”Carter”, selv i sengen !!!!

Stakkels Carter !!!!

22:00 (men vores kroppens ur skriger kl 23 !!!)

Vi giver hende vores sædvanlige budskab – go get’em Tiger!!!

århundrede i grevskabet Lincoln.

English translation

18:00 We have dinner and then we spend the rest of the evening watching TV. They show a documentary (part one of eleven) with a silly title but an interesting idea: "Books That Made Britain". This first episode is about books (mostly quite dark crime dramas) set in East Anglia, for example in the counties of Norfolk and Suffolk and so on. The program's host is the lush Martha Kearney.

We see many long camera shots of the region's beautiful but flat and rather sinister and eerie landscape, "the big sky", the long coast line and so on. It is interesting that local writers who still live over there, recognize a connection with the dark thrillers being written in Denmark, located just on the other side of the North Sea.

A flat and eerie landscape - oh dear!

Local crime writers acknowledge a connection with their Danish colleagues - oh dear (again)!

21:00 We continue to watch TV. They show the third part of an interesting drama series, "Tutankhamun," which is about the famous archaeologist Howard Carter, who discovered the young king's tomb in 1922.

In this episode, we see the moment Carter, Lord Canarvon (Carter's patron) and Canarvon's teenage daughter Lady Evelyn, take a first look into the tomb through a tiny peephole – oh my god! How exciting!

Carter takes a first look into the tomb through a tiny peephole – oh my god!

Later, we see Carter go to bed with Lady Evelyn, his patron's teenage daughter. This I have to say - that Carter's two affairs with, firstly, a female expert from the New York Metropolitan Museum, and secondly, with Lady Evelyn, has helped a little to improve Carter's quite prudish image. Oh My God! What a crazy world we live in !!!!

Carter's affair with Lady Evelyn, Canarvon's teenage daughter,
has helped to improve his "prudish" image - no doubt about it !!!
But Lady Evelyn calls him "Carter" even in bed !!!!

But the series has not helped the local Egyptians' image. Carter is very conscientious and good at complying with all local rules, but the Egyptian government tears up their contract with Canarvon, so he cannot make a quick profit by exploiting Carter's discoveries - what madness !!!

Unfortunately Canarvon is very angry when he finds out the details of Carter's affair with his teenage daughter. Canarvon's fortune is now ruined by the Egyptian government’s dishonest actions, and Lois and I are wondering whether he will now want Lady Evelyn to marry a filthy rich man - oh my god! Poor Carter !!!!

22:00 (but our body clock screams eleven o'clock !!!) We go to bed - zzzzz !!!!!

04:00 I wake up mega early (the body clock again!), But I stay lying in the bed until 5. I get up and do one of my routine Danish vocabulary tests. Afterwards I hurry into the kitchen and make two cups of tea. I bring them up to our bedroom and crawl back into our bed. We drink the tea and get up. We eat breakfast.

09:00 I get a text message from Sarah, our youngest daughter, who 11 months ago moved to Australia with Francis, her husband and their 3-year-old twins, Lily and Jessica. Sarah says she starts her new job tomorrow as an auditor with Tim Davies Landscaping.

We are sure that she must be feeling very nervous at the present moment - no doubt about it !!! We give her our usual message - go get'em Tiger !!! We assure her that we will think of her when we are going to bed tonight at 10pm and she is at the same time getting up to go to work!

10:00 We go out in the backyard and weed a bit in the vegetable garden. The sun begins to peek out, for once - hurrah!

12:00 We come back into the house and eat lunch. Then I go to bed and take a giant nap - zzzzz !!!!

15:00 I get up and write a lot of notes down about "Ormulum," the famous poem that was written in the 13th century in the county of Lincoln. The author was a monk, 'Worms' (Orm in Norse), who had a lazy brother, Walter. Worms asked Walter to edit, correct and improve the poem's text, but it seems that Walter was too lazy to take on the task. It may be that the poem was never published. All we have is a draft of the poem, which is slightly tragic seen from Worms's perspective - my god! What madness!!!

16:00 Lois goes around the corner to the local medical clinic. She would like to find out why she has not heard anything about a possible investigation into her cataracts at the hospital. Specsavers Optik wrote a letter to the clinic on 18 September. The letter explained the situation with regard to Lois's eyes, and recommended the clinic request an appointment with the hospital's optician on Lois's behalf.

Lois spoke with the clinic's secretary who said they did not receive the Specsavers Optik letter. Lois then spoke to one of the clinic's doctors, who told her that Specsavers Optik should have sent the letter directly to the hospital. My Goodness! Someone here is lying - no doubt about it !!!!

Lois rang again to Specsavers Optik. They promised her that their optician will call her tomorrow and they can talk about the problem. My God (again)! What a crazy world we live in !!!!
